What’s For Dinner Tonight?

It’s almost dinner. What have you cooked? I dont cook as my MIL cooks mostly. I just eat whatever is on the kitchen table. Tonight, we’re having stew. She cooked a huge pot, enough to feed us well into late night. It has lots of gravy in it. My kid will enjoy their rice tonight. Well, those who are on a diet, remember not to skip all the important meals of the day. You really do not want to be nutritionally deficient, ok. Weight loss is not about skipping meals and popping effective diet pills only. It’s about moderate food intake coupled with a good exercise plan. So, enjoy your dinner tonight, ya.

I went back to my mom’s this morning, and guess what…. she’s cooking her famous Mui Choi Khau Yook, OMG!!!!!! I lifted the pot’s cover and the aroma that wafted up my nostrils made me drool all over the kitchen counter. It’s just wonderful and oh-so-sinful. I can only imagine all the fatty pork, cholesterol and artery busting stuffs swimming in me if i ever eat a bowl of that. I wont ever touch it unless i have some of these top fat burners as part of my instant weight loss plan. Too bad, i dont store fat burners around the house. Sadly, i placed the lid back onto the pot and hurried out the kitchen. Sulk

Both my kids requested to go to my mom’s for the evening. I told them the laundry is still in the washing machine and we’ve gotta wait for it to stop. I then told Malcolm, my 3.5 yo kid to let me know when the washing machine beeps. He’s so anxious to go that he ran to the washing machine and yelled at it to “stop”, lol. I posted it as my Facebook status update and had my friends all laughing. Anyway, Mother’s Day is about a month and a half away. Have you given it a thought as to what to buy for the most important woman of your life. These days, i can no longer sit at the pc for long hours like last time when i first started blogging. I’ve somehow developed a bad backache over the years. If i sit here for over two hours, i can feel my back getting stiff. If i dont get up and walk around, or stretch myself a bit, the pain will come. That’s why i’ve not been starting new blogs lately.

Yesterday, Gillian asked me to join her yoga class. She told me the stretching exercises will do my back lots of good. I’ve heard a lot about yoga and its benefits before. Unfortunately, i’m too tied up with the kids to fit yoga into my life at this point of time. I’d love to, really. Anyway, she gave me a few yoga cds for me to watch during the holidays.

Hubby told me to go visit a chiropractor to have my back pain checked. I’m trying to but haven’t found one where i live. When Was The Last Time You Cleared Your Fridge?

We dont have a maid to help out with household chores. With the few hours that i have on hand each day, i try to squeeze in a chore or two whenever i can. Yesterday, i gave the kitchen fridge a thorough cleaning. After an hour, i reclaimed more than 75% of its space. And boy, it looks so neat and clean now. I did not tell my mother-in-law that i’ve thrown away many of her stuffs. Most of them half-used or expired. She never bother to check the dates. If i dont throw them away, she might use them when she cooks. Dont want to think what will happen if someone ends up with food poisoning, ok. So, if you’ve not cleared your fridge for some time, why not do so now? Doesnt really take long. A less cluttered fridge uses less energy too, saving you some money

I bumped into Susan at Parkson this noon. She looked so drained and i asked her what’s bothering her. She told me her son just informed her he’s signed up for a course at a cosmetology school without her knowledge. She wanted him to take up Accountancy like his cousin. What’s wrong with guys going to cosmetology schools? Many famous make-up artists are male and they are also highly sought after in the beauty industry. I assured her that her son is a big boy now and knows what he wants to do. Well, if she’s still upset over it, then it’s high time she sit down and have a chat with him. No point walking around with a sour face, right.

Tuition As Usual

About time i get the kids to bed. It’s almost 10pm. Gotta wake up on time to send Gordon off to his tutor’s by 9am. The school holidays will be over in the blink of an eye. I dont want him to stay home and play all days long. It’s gonna be difficult to get him back to a right study routine after that. Well, i may get up after they’ve fallen asleep. I Dont Need A Maid

Malcolm may be 3.5 years old only. At such an early age, he helps me with simple chores around the house. Take the laundry as an example. He now takes his own clothes off when it’s bath time. Before he steps into the bathroom, he will place his dirty clothes into the laundry basket without being told. When i’m folding my clothes, he’ll help me place his and his brother’s clothes into their respective drawers. Laundry is not the only thing he helps me with. He can vacuum the carpet, takes his own bowls and cups to the kitchen sink and lots more. See, it only take a little training to make them help me out. Who needs a maid with Malcolm around, lol. As for Gordon, that’s another story altogether, hahahahahahaha.

I believe i can finally go to bed now. The loud banging coming from the room right next to mine has stopped. There’s a young couple living right next to us and they quarrel a lot. I wonder why they got married in the first place. They dont have children and thus, wont understand the importance of keeping their voices down in the middle of the night. I’m glad i sent my kids to bed late tonight. I bought them some new VCDs and they wanted to watch every single one of them. School holidays just started. I let them go to bed two hours later than usual and both my boys were down and out in less than ive minutes after lights out, lol. They must be really tired after a long day. This must be the reason why they are oblivious to the din coming from next door.

I told my ex-neighbor what happened just now. The couple next door happens to be her relative. She sold them her house when she decided to move to a bigger place last year. Wish i bought it from her when she offered it to me then. After ranting to her, she gave me the link to this Custom Printed Labels company, Data Graphics Inc.. She told me her cousin had a similar experience like mine. What she did was she went and order a batch of Custom Labels and pasted lots of it over the fence. She even pasted a Custom Label on her neighbor’s car, lol. They finally got the drift and argued less at night. It’s so funny. I had a good laugh and to be honest with you, tempted to do the same too. I wont, ok. I dont want to get on their nerves. Who knows what they’ll do next, huh.
