Credit Counselling
Recently, a close relative of mine fell into the clutches of credit card debt. It all happened so fast during the last few months her hubby was out of a job. With no money left in their savings, they started to withdraw money with their credit cards in order to survive till her hubby finds a new job. The thing is, cash advance fees is quite high here. Soon enough, she found that coupled with the monthly interest, she can no longer meet up with the monthly repayments.
The outstanding amount ballooned to a scary five figure that brought her nothing but nightmare each night. It’s really bad. I heard she’s been going round and round to friends, and family members seeking financial help. It’s also very unfortunate that no one is willing to help her out. Some even asked her to file for bankruptcy. I know how bad it can be should one fails to meet up with their credit card repayments. I have a few friends who went bankrupt that way, sad huh.
In the end, she was also lucky as she met someone who told her to go for Credit Counseling instead. She gave it a try and was so glad at what she learnedand the help she received in order to regain her financial freedom. These things take time but you have to start as soon as possible. Check out the link i left here in this post for more information on how you can become debt free again. Remember. There IS light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to take the first step and walk there.
