My sons - Gordon & Malcolm
Hmmm, this is a tough tag by shoppingmum. She knows lansee me seldom do tags wan. But she so 8, wanna go test this banana. Wanna 8 see how i came up with names for my kids wohhh……… *rolls eyes*. The chinese have this kind of thinking whereby they let their in-laws choose their kids’ names. At the end of the day, they may end up with a name that they dont like and have a hard time rejecting also. Eh, these are my children, and therefore hubby and i choose their names; PERIOD.
Me, i’ve named Gordon even before he’s conceived. I just like the name. No idea what it meant also, just like it. So, it kinda stuck………… for like 7 years before he finally came along. Hubby also likes it. As for his chinese name, it’s 军 豪 - Jun Hao. Jun is General. Eh, harlow…. not “in general” lidat, hah. It’s The General that leads his team to win the war, that kind. A leader, wokay. Hao means bold/grand/heroic. Together, Gordon is destined to become a great leader next time. Of course, with the right kind of guidance and education. Leaders can have many kinds wann. Baddies also need leaders,k. So, Gordon had better know right from wrong, or i’m so gonna wring his lil neck.
I named Malcolm too, lol. Dont care about the English meaning lah. Hubby named his chinese name. 军 力 - Jun Riq. If i were to use a direct pinyin for Riq, he’ll end up having a name that’s very feminine sounding and it’s gonna turn out Li, rotflmao. Imagine calling a boy Jun Li…… uwek, uwekk. The more commonly used one would be Lik. But i dont like it. So, Riq it is. Say nice, wokay. 力 can mean power/force/strength. In combination with The General front, you can see that this General is pahwerful.
I dare say these two brothers will give me lots of headache next time. Equipped with names with such a level of strength, they’d better carry them well next time. And this, only time will tell. Again i stress; GUIDANCE. Being able to tell right from wrong and making informed choices is the most important thing besides academic achievements in life. IQ, EQ & FQ are also of equal importance. Not forgetting, they must have a good heart and be a compassionate person. Not a “soft” heart. A man must be strong. The world is a brutal place to be, and they must have to courage and determination to rise up again should they fail in their pursuit. Never give up; EVER. The world has no place for losers, it’s a hard fact that they have to face.
Now, i want to hear from these 5 wonderful bloggers:

May 15th, 2007 at 9:33 pm[...] Well, we are very innovative creatures. The eat-full-nothing-to-do moms like us. So, we create tags. Today, it is about babies names. (eh, wuching, I still remember your toilet tag but wait first hor?) I got this from Samm. Now, you should know that choosing a good name is very important to us Chinese especially. Last time, if a woman has difficulty conceiving or her earlier babies died or something, they will call their first baby ‘Ah Too’, ‘Ah Kau’ or ‘Ah Gu’. (too = pig, kau = dog, gu = cow). The reason is to fool the Grim Reaper that those are piglets, calves or puppies and hence, Mr. Grim Reaper will not come and take the baby’s life. Nice theory? My ex-ex-boss who is a lawyer married to a British woman, handsome fella, name Ah Gu. I tell you, my colleague and I had so much laffs, talking to each other, “Eh Ah Gu leh?” Instead of calling him Mr. Teoh. [...]
